What is a claim?
A “claim” refers to an event or damage that occurs to the insured (that’s you) and is covered by an insurance policy (that’s us). Through its range of products, Smerra covers most of the mishaps that can occur in your student life. For example: a car accident, water damage, burglary, etc. With over 50 years of experience, we have encountered many situations and can provide you with the help you need.

Do you have Smerra insurance (Indispensable and Sécurité civil liability, health package + insurance)?
Accidents involving other people can happen quickly, so it is essential to know your rights if you cause damage to someone else. Whether the damage is material or physical, you can also claim on your Smerra insurance, particularly through the essential civil liability cover.
Examples of situations:
- I spilled my coffee on a friend’s computer
- My drill went through my neighbor’s living room wall
Have you been involved in an accident?
If you have an accident, you should file a claim under your personal accident insurance. Contact an advisor to find out what steps you need to take.
Examples of situations:
- a minor fall from your bike during your last hike
- a broken tooth after hitting a lamppost in the street
Have you insured your home with Smerra?
In the event of water damage, fire, theft/burglary, etc., report your claim directly online. Convenient and accessible from your mobile phone, all the information provided (contact details, circumstances of the incident, estimates/invoices, etc.) allows us to quickly assess your situation.
If you have taken out annual home insurance, if you are a tenant in a Fac-Habitat or Logifac residence and you have taken out annual or monthly home insurance: you can report the claim directly via your Leocare personal account.
What should you do if you have an insurance claim?
The first thing to do is to notify your insurer as soon as possible so that we can assess the situation and provide you with the best possible support. If you are the victim of theft, you must also file a police report within 48 hours. The more details you provide us with, the better we can assist you.
Remember to contact your insurer before taking any action and to quote your policy number.

Are you abroad and need to file a claim or receive assistance under the Pack Monde Europe plan?
If you experience an incident while abroad and have purchased the Pack Monde Europe insurance plan, you must contact Cover-More Europe before taking any action, and provide your policy number CBZDE11GOS6/PM.
- Assistance claims must be reported to the Cover-More Europe Assistance Center at +33 171 230 300.
- Other claims must be reported at FR.Claims@travelguard.com.
How do I file a claim for the Pack en France insurance policy?
For the Pack en France Global policy:
In the event of a claim under the Pack en France Global policy, the procedure varies depending on the nature of the situation: hospitalization or non-hospitalization expenses. All claims must be accompanied by the insurance certificate.
Hospitalization Claims: For direct coverage of hospitalization costs, the insured must contact AIG at 01.49.02.46.70 prior to any treatment.
Non-Hospitalization Claims and Liability Insurance: Original receipts for expenses, and for liability insurance a detailed statement of the damage caused, must be sent to AIG, Claims Department / Personal Insurance, Tour CB 21, 16 place de l’Iris, 92040 Paris La Défense cedex.
For the Pack en France Confort:
In the event of a claim with the Pack en France Confort, the claim must be filed with the relevant provider depending on the coverage to be activated.

How do I file a School Insurance claim?
In the event of a claim under School Insurance, the reporting procedure depends on the coverage involved: assistance or non-assistance.

Solidarité Exam: How to Apply for the Study Allowance?
The Solidarité Exam insurance policy provides a study allowance of €5,000 if a student is unable to take an exam due to personal hospitalization or the death of a parent. The benefit is paid if these events result in the student having to repeat the year and the student retakes their exams to cover the expenses of the new academic year.
